RICK DERRINGER, RHETT TYLER AND EARLY WARNING,
HEY NINETEEN – A TRIBUTE TO STEELY DAN
Rick Derringer was just 17 when his band The McCoys™ recorded the No.1 hit “Hang On Sloopy” in the summer of 1965. Rick was writer/producer of Johnny Winter’s Still Alive and Well album and player/producer of the hit album, They Only Come Out At Night. The latter featured the No. 1, Grammy nominated monster hit, “Frankenstein” and “Free Ride”. He’s since worked appeared on numerous albums with artists Alice Cooper, Richie Havens, Todd Rundgren and Steely Dan, Cyndi Lauper, Barbra Streisand, Kiss, Mason Ruffner and Madam X and Weird. He’s produced Grammy-winning albums and videos for Weird Al Yankovic’. His productions “Eat It”, and “Who’s Fat”, have been Yankovic’s most successful recordings. In 2002, Rick ventured into Smooth Jazz. Rick Derringer – Free Ride’s second single “Hot And Cool” (in the ‘Radio and Records’ top 20 for 5 months, and number 42 for the year) showed Derringer right at home in the format. It seems like almost too much story to take in at one sitting, but the most surprising part is, after more than four decades he’s still going strong!
Rhett Tyler & Early Warning
Rhett Tyler, guitarist, songwriter, vocalist, and producer, is best known for his explosive style of scorching modern blues guitar and high-octane, house-rocking live performances.
Born in San Antonio, Texas, and raised in Mississippi, Ohio, and St. Louis, Rhett grew up listening and learning about music and the blues from his father, an Air Force officer and talented classical, boogie, and blues pianist, and about writing from his mother, a published poet. He discovered his own God-given musical talent at the age of 15 when his parents gave him his first electric guitar.
Hey Nineteen – A Tribute to Steely Dan
Hey Nineteen is a 11 piece tribute to Steely Dan. We are professional musicians with the musicality and theoretical knowledge of the complex material we play! We have a great love of the music and lyrics of Becker and Fagen, and after years of playing original music, we draw from the well that provided our thirst for great music… Steely Dan!
